This suburban house in a historic Kirkwood neighborhood was ready for an update to add needed character and functionality. Our team worked with the family to design a front porch expansion with stylish features that will provide a space to sit and relax, while giving the front of the house a beautiful makeover to match the historic charm of the surrounding neighborhood.
Our team added a front gable with a vaulted barrel tongue and groove ceiling. We inlaid brick for the floor of the porch and as a walkway leading to the driveway. New gutters will collect rainwater in a cistern for garden irrigation. Round columns across the front give the home a distinctive quality, while new colored shutters with a matching painted front door will reflect the family’s personality.
